Shipping and Receiving Specialist

This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Utilize SAP to perform daily shipping and receiving transactions.
- Receive and unload incoming raw materials, packaging, and supplies.
- Schedule carrier appointments for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Load finished products onto trucks and railcars.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including international and hazardous material shipments.
- Package finished products in totes and drums.
- Track shipments and deliveries to ensure plant readiness.
- Support plant operations by coordinating with schedulers, planners, customer service, and other support functions.
- Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and perform rail switching activities.
- Support production through raw material handling, product transfers, filter press cleaning, and compliance with safety requirements.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications:
- Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third party employer.
- Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems
- High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years equivalent work experience
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
- Strong written and verbal communication
Preferred qualifications:
- Two years of experience in manufacturing or chemical plants
- Experience operating forklifts and/or similar equipment
- Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems
