Job Overview

The Maintenance Electrician III performs preventive, predictive, and reactive electrical maintenance on plant and production equipment and serves as a senior technical resource for complex electrical and controls issues. This role supports safe and reliable operation of electrical assets by troubleshooting motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, control circuits, safety interlocks, low-voltage automation, PLC/HMI-related faults, and integrated production systems. The role is expected to use electrical test equipment, schematics, wiring diagrams, I/O references, equipment manuals, and maintenance history to identify root causes, validate repairs, and reduce repeat failures. The Maintenance Electrician III also supports preventive maintenance execution and optimization, SAP/CMMS documentation quality, electrical safety compliance, arc flash/PPE practices, LOTO expectations, contractor coordination, shutdown/project support, shift handoff, technical mentoring, GMP discipline, housekeeping, and continuous improvement activities that improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.

What You Will Do

• Perform preventive, predictive, reactive, and corrective electrical maintenance; troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems; restore equipment to safe and reliable operating condition and verify readiness for production.
• Create, modify, maintain, and document electrical systems, wiring layouts, prints, work orders, and related plant documentation to support safe troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, and equipment reliability.
• Interpret schematics, blueprints, manuals, and technical documentation to diagnose equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions that improve reliability.
• Support electrical safety, compliance, audit readiness, and preventive maintenance programs through adherence to LOTO, arc flash, PPE, inspection, and corrective action requirements.
• Maintain accurate SAP/CMMS records including work orders, labor, parts usage, preventive maintenance activities, corrective actions, and follow-up requirements.
• Support production, maintenance, and utility operations through effective troubleshooting, communication, shift handoffs, risk assessment, and escalation of issues impacting safety, quality, or reliability.
• Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, vendors, and project teams to support maintenance activities, equipment installations, commissioning, modifications, outage planning, and return-to-service requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to maintenance personnel through advanced troubleshooting, reliability improvement efforts, contractor coordination, and sharing of electrical knowledge and best practices.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts as required and within training and authorization limits. 
• Maintain housekeeping and organization in maintenance shops, electrical rooms, offices, and work areas to support safe and efficient operations. 
• Perform other duties as assigned to support safe, reliable, and compliant plant operations.

What You Will Need

• Minimum 2 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical and control systems.
• Minimum 2 years of experience using electrical testing equipment, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety requirements, including LOTO, arc flash, PPE, and safe work practices.

What Will Put You Ahead

• 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment. 
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting complex electrical, automation, and control systems and supporting equipment reliability improvements. 
• Experience supporting electrical compliance, contractor management, installations, commissioning, and capital projects.
• Journeyman Electrician certification required or obtainable within one year of employment; leadership, mentoring, or subject matter expertise preferred.
