Agronomy Assistant
Job Purpose and Impact
The Agronomy Assistant will work with research agronomists to run and maintain research plots. In this role, you will handle private research trials to be used for evaluation with commercial potential. You will work with research and support teams to prioritize resources efficiently to meet business objectives.
Key Accountabilities
Identify and execute agronomy/yield making improvement opportunities
Identify and execute Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Lead and manage leaf and soil sampling team
- Analyze BBC and P&D Data
Execute R&D/Agronomy trials
Carry out and manage agronomy trials (fertilizers, herbicides etc)
Lead and manage Crop Forecast/BBC team
Conduct technical/agronomy training for operations team
Conduct GIS/GPS related activities with emphasis on agronomy/yield making improvement
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma III or Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Soil Science, GIS/GPS, Sciences, related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years experience in oil palm agronomy/oil palm plantations [P&D control, plant nutrient]
- Preferably proficient in English, both verbal and written.
Strong abilities with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Good understanding of oil palm agronomy techniques
Passion for continuous learning and improvement
Experience in handling drones/GIS/GPS tools will be an added advantage
Experienced GIS personnel with interest in exploring opportunities in oil palm agronomy is welcomed.
