Hazleton Protein Processing Plant
The city of Hazleton is the hub of a thriving Greater Hazleton area. It represents a total population in excess of 80,000 people residing in sixteen communities. Greater Hazleton offers a diversified economy, a clean and safe environment and numerous opportunities for residents and visitors.
Cargill is one of the largest employers in the Hazleton area, proudly employing approximately 800 people. We produce ground beef, whole muscle beef (steaks, roasts, etc.) and pork products that are sold at grocery stores across the U.S. Our generous employees contribute to many charitable organizations throughout the community including the United Way of Greater Hazleton, where we were the top contributor for employee donations three years in a row. In addition to the United Way, our employees have supported the Hazleton Animal Shelter, the Hazleton Public Library, the Hazleton Integration Project, the Hazleton Blind Association, and many other churches and charitable organizations. Cargill employees enjoy Cargill-sponsored events such as picnics, holiday events and benefit meals. Through these efforts, Cargill has made a positive impact on the Hazleton community and strives to be the employer of choice for the area.
