Starting your career at Cargill can give you a real advantage. And this comes from more than our global reach or our career paths. It starts with our culture of integrated development. A key element of this is mentorship and this is particularly evident in the Cargill Young Professionals Network (CYPN) Mentorship Program.

Our year-long program focuses on creating impactful mentoring relationships between our experienced employees and our young professionals. We take the time to pair each mentee with a mentor who can help them with their individual goals and areas of interest. Participants in the program say they like that it’s a formal program with some structure, but not too much! Often, they continue their relationships long after the program has ended.

We encourage mentees who have come through the program to consider taking on an additional role as a mentor when they’re ready.

Mentorship helped me learn from others' experiences throughout my career. My supervisor and formal mentor helped me better understand the challenges I faced through their personal perspectives. Connecting with mentors helped me learn more about Cargill, grow my network and open my mind to new approaches.

Karla C., Risk Management and Sourcing Manager, Mexico

“I've been blessed to be around a lot of great people who want to see me be successful and want to be a part of my growth. It gives me the opportunity to help people in their development and growth, not only as a worker, but also as a person in general.”

Allen E., Business Operations and Supply Chain Training Lead, U.S.

How Mentorship Shapes Professional Growth

Behind every Cargill leader is a history of mentors who helped them get to where they are today. They understand the importance of paying it forward in order to pass down the lessons they've learned to tomorrow's innovators.

These lessons often bring unexpected strides to one's career growth at Cargill. A mentor's personal perspective can help mentees approach challenges from different directions, adding to their professional skillset over time.

These same perspectives also provide valuable insight into how our business operates. Translating that understanding to action can help streamline and simplify where employees can take their future with Cargill.

"My mentors have been critical in supporting me in building my network, developing organizational knowledge, polishing my leadership style and keeping me grounded throughout many challenges. Through mentorship, I've succeeded in finding my voice as a leader while progressing in business and team objectives."

Aurea M., Strategic Marketing and Technology Lead, Cargill Animal Nutrition, Mexico

"Mentorship has been invaluable for me - it's like having a compass in the journey of my career. If you're considering joining a company that places a high value on relationship-building, then pursue roles at Cargill."

Allison L., Business Development Manager Dairy Alternatives, U.S.
