Job Purpose and Impact

The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor will design, develop and maintain electrical automation and instrumentation control systems or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. 

In this role, you will plan and direct the daily activities of instrumentation and electrical technicians performing preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance to the asset management program.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and coordinate the electrical, automation, and instrumentation function, supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations
• Plan, coordinate, and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, asset performance, and operational availability
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and improvement of electrical power distribution systems, automation systems, instrumentation, motor control centers, and related utility and safety systems
• Contribute to operational and capital project planning, including budgeting, cost estimation, technical design reviews, equipment upgrades, and plant improvement initiatives.
• Oversee the commissioning and start-up of new equipment and systems, ensuring alignment with design specifications, operational requirements, and safety standards
• Manage spare parts inventory, procurement activities, and contractor services, while collaborating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, utility providers, engineering partners, and regulatory authorities
• Lead and support the development of the electrical and automation team through workforce planning, performance management, training, competency development, and contractor supervision
• Contribute to audits, energy management initiatives, facility management activities, and other technical or operational projects that support business objectives.
• Perform other duties as needed
• Make personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary matters for direct reports, while remaining actively involved in the team’s day-to-day work when needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
• Experience working with electrical systems in a production, industrial, construction, or similar technical environment
• At least one year of experience leading, supervising, or coordinating a team
• German and English language proficiency at B2 level or above
• Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), such as Siemens PCS 7 or comparable systems
• Knowledge of VEFK (Responsible Electrical Person) requirements, with experience in the role or willingness to obtain the required qualification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, or implementing electrical systems, including power, lighting, signaling, or comparable systems
• Experience contributing to or leading CAPEX and/or OPEX projects
• Working knowledge of ERP systems
• Knowledge of electrical drive systems, instrumentation, control systems, and automation engineering
• Experience operating and maintaining medium- and low-voltage systems, transformer installations, and power generation assets, such as CHP plants, or the willingness and ability to develop the required expertise
