Assistant Segment Controller / Country Controllership Lead - Animal Health and Nutrition Thailand
Job Purpose and Impact
The Assistant Segment Controller / Country Controllership Lead will lead the controllership agenda for the Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH) business in Thailand. The role is responsible for financial integrity, accounting governance, internal controls, financial risk management, and compliance with corporate and local requirements.
Based in the Bangkok office, this position will partner closely with business and finance leaders and coordinate with Accounting Operations, FP&A, Credit, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and other functions. The role reports to the Director, Business Segment Controller for ANH Thailand and the Philippines.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the overall controllership agenda for ANH Thailand and serve as the primary contact for accounting, financial reporting, controls, and financial governance matters.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting, including balance sheet reviews, significant accounting estimates, reconciliations, and resolution of close issues.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, US GAAP, local statutory requirements, and internal control standards.
- Evaluate complex and non-routine accounting matters, including asset impairment, restructuring, leases, provisions, reserves, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Lead internal control assessments, remediation activities, approval governance, and support for internal and external audits.
- Identify, assess, and escalate material financial risks, including credit exposure, bad-debt reserves, aged receivables, inventory, assets, and other potential financial impacts.
- Provide independent controllership advice and constructive challenge on business decisions, investments, contracts, and operational changes.
- Drive process simplification, standardization, automation, and finance transformation initiatives.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the Thailand controllership team and coordinate the quality and timeliness of services delivered by shared-service teams.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Typically five or more years of relevant experience in accounting, external audit, financial reporting, or controllership.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, month-end close, balance sheet governance, accounting principles, and internal controls.
- Relevant accounting and controllership experience in a multinational or similarly complex organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and influencing skills.
- Able to exercise independent judgment and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Willing and able to be based in the Bangkok office.
