Fort Morgan Protein Processing Plant
The City of Fort Morgan was named after a military fort established along the Overland Trail in 1865, honoring Colonel Christopher A. Morgan. Today, Fort Morgan is the most populous city in Morgan County with 11,000 residents. Fort Morgan residents enjoy numerous parks and open spaces, a library/museum complex, a community swimming pool, and a golf course. Cities close to Fort Morgan are Denver, Greeley, and Fort Collins, which means an easy drive to four major sport franchises, entertainment arts and museums, shopping, five colleges and universities, two junior colleges, and state-of-the-art medical facilities.
Cargill is the largest employer in Morgan County, proudly employing approximately 2,100 people. Our beef processing facility contributes to the Fort Morgan community through volunteer hours with the Cargill Cares Council, and support of the local United Way and food banks. Cargill employees enjoy Cargill-sponsored events such as picnics, bowling, and benefit meals.
