Job Purpose and Impact
The Trader for Cargill’s Grains and Oilseeds team will participate in trading and risk management of our regional cash activities and in remote selling to both new and existing customers. In this role, you will contribute to generating income and controlling risks by performing most routine or complex trading work.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute and monitor the short term trading strategies and books for a specific commodity, market or customer based on speculative and hedged positions.
- Coordinate trading efforts across the risk management trading desks to create joint product optimizations or swap opportunities that meet the multifaceted needs of our customers and our internal trading.
- Research and analyze various market inputs and opportunities in the marketplace to maximize margin.
- Collaborate with trade execution, finance, regional marketing team and credit manager to ensure efficient execution.
- Coordinate sales and marketing efforts with regional teams as well as other stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Reconcile profit and loss estimates and reports that require some interpretation of trading practices and procedures.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two to four years of related work experience
- Data Science fluency preferred
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
