This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Sales Account Manager will participate in face to face and remote selling to the company's new and existing customers, selling directly or indirectly through various sales channels. In this role, you will help assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions. This position is in Cargill’s Food North America Retail Sales organization supporting the Water Quality Salt business for the US West region. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of sales proposals and conducting detailed presentations for effective product demonstration achieving sales targets by both managing assigned accounts and bringing on new accounts
  • Build a business plan for each account developing strong client relationships. Closely monitor the customer relationship for continuous value creation and optimization.
  • Plan daily activities, including customer visits and establish quantitative and qualitative objectives to achieve.
  • Follow market and competition evolution, relaying information to senior staff.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to travel in assigned geography – up to 30% (overnight travel and occasional weekend)
  • Driver's license in good standing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
  • CRM experience (Salesforce or related systems)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience
  • Demonstrated sales and negotiation experience

Position Information

  • This position is open to work from any of the following states: California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona and must travel to support all locations in the West Region in US.
  • Up to 30% travel is required to cover the area of responsibility.
  • The expected salary for this position is $70,000 - 90,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
