We are growing our U.S. Government Relations team and seeking a Senior Manager to support our international policy advocacy efforts. This role will manage a diverse and evolving portfolio of policy issues and offer the opportunity to work at the intersection of food, agriculture, and innovation. We are seeking a Senior Manager to support the company on complex international policy issues, with a focus on Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), but could include other geographies or policy issues as well. The Senior Manager will work with foreign and domestic government officials, relevant executive agencies, Congress, trade associations, industry coalitions, and others. In this role, you will help shape public policy that supports Cargill’s business goals and values, while building trusted relationships across the federal and international landscape.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of international policy and regulatory issues related (but not limited to) key markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
  • Work across an integrated team and support directors on cross-cutting issues important for the company, such trade, investment, sustainability, human rights and food policy.
  • Organize and participate in meetings, forums and events with government officials to share insightsand advance Cargill’s policy priorities.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders.
  • Represent Cargill in coalitions and trade associations to ensure our interests are reflected in policy discussions.
  • Develop internal resources and programs to raise awareness of government actions and their impact on the business.
  • Write executive briefings, policy memos, and manage newsletters to support internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Handle complex issues independently,escalating only the most complex issues as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of experience in government relations, public policy, or regulatory affairs.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working on government relations issues in the Europe, Africa, and Middle East region
  • Experience engaging with international institutions or multilateral organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex geopolitical and regulatory environments (especially in EMEA markets)
  • Proven track record of developing and executing policy advocacy strategies
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate policy developments into business implications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of food, agricultural, or supply-chain policy

External Application Information

The expected base salary for this position is approximately $115,000 to $150,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal.
