Job Purpose and Impact

The Trading Execution Executive will coordinate and execute moderately complex trade execution activities. In this role, you will ensure coordination of all required processes for movement of commodities and maintain consistent communication with internal and external customers to ensure accurate and timely statuses of operations. You will execute all the activities related to issuing import and export licenses and completing transactions associated with the import and export in a timely manner.

Key Accountabilities

  • Execute of shipments including stock planning, laycan planning, booking vessels, Issuing Lc’s, vessel nomination, shipping advice, insurance declaration, discharge/ load port agent appointment, LOI, load/discharge operation. Manage trade finance activities, particularly with instruments relating to Documentary Credit such as letters of credit and ensure full operative letter of credits are in place and in control for clean presentation of documents for prompt receipt of payments. Ensure timely settlement of claims and account receivable.  
  • Proactively highlighting risks and issues related to the execution of the shipment to the stakeholders (like Freight management team, Credit, Legal, Tax) so as to ensure appropriate mitigation steps are taken into consideration.
  • Support working capital management and cash flow requirements.  
  • Suggest Process improvements wherever there are any gaps in daily processes for better working and improving productivity within the team.  
  • Maintain a good working relationship with customers contact both internal and external, proactively foresee and highlight the opportunities and risk/exposure within the business.
  • Liaise with Commercial, Credit, Legal, Treasury, Trade Structured Finance, Tax, Ocean Transportation, Accounting and various other teams to work on interconnected projects and resolve problems from time to time.
  • Liase with the Internal Business stake holders from a point of view of Customer expectation management and deeply involved in pre-trade discussions to help the business structure long term commodity contracts suitable to the ever-changing business environment.  
  • Draft sales and purchase contract templates that help the team expediate contract issuance upon deal confirmation.  
  • Help the team to negotiate the contract terms with external customers and get internal alignment on terms considered as exposure to the business. Provide technical support to the parties involved on contractual terms, with an emphasis risk management within the execution space.  
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • University Degree majoring in international business or Shipping practices
  • Experience/knowledge of managing credit risk using trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit, Discounting, Standby Letters of Credit. Clear understanding of Marketing fundamentals (i.e pricing, delivery strategy, value chain dynamics, net back calculations.
  • Experience in handling Trade Execution related projects and management of end to end shipment flow
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of international practices, incoterms, legal terms, shipping terms and its relation to sales/purchase of contracts. Good understanding of requirements in trade execution in a trading, manufacturing and freight
  • Knowledge of UCP 600 & ISBP; Comprehensive Knowledge of shipping and international practices e.g. C/P terms and its relation to sales/purchase of contracts, laytime calculations, B/L requirements, including insurance classifications  
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of Incoterms
  • Experience managing and planning import and export processes, customs documentation, shipping, and receiving of foreign merchandise in a global matrixed company
