This position is in Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.
Job Purpose and Impact
Location: Naas (Republic of Ireland)
At Cargill, we strive to be the best choice in animal nutrition solutions. Our team uses our nutritional expertise and knowledge to provide superior innovative nutritional products and services to the agricultural feed industry.
The Feed Formulator will support the development and review of formulations for current and future products of Cargill and our key customers. In this role, you will support the evolution and improvement of our current and future product portfolio, balancing efficiency, cost of formulation and raw material use.
The role is a permanent, full time position.
Key Accountabilities
• Update formulation software with available raw material data, retrieving information from relevant sources, and reporting on the progress of formulations
• Formulate and ensure the products are manufactured in accordance with applicable requirements and specifications
• Advise internal and external contacts on formulation related questions
• Look for opportunities for cost savings related to formulation and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff
• Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Animal Sciences) or equivalent experience in place of a Degree
• Computer literacy (Excel) and the ability to learn new software (formulation software)
• Animal nutrition knowledge
• Able to work independently and in groups
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior Formulation experience is advantageous
• Strong analytical skills, prior experience in feed production
