Job Purpose and Impact
To fast-track a junior trading/merchandising talent who is commercially inclined for our Cargill Food & Bio trading business. The role will be mentorship focused on building relevant skills, knowledge and cultural awareness to be successful in the role.
Key Accountabilities
Developing short-term and long-term trading strategies, as well as identifying potential opportunities in both derivatives, cash paper and physical markets.
Negotiate for buy and sell physical cargo during arbitrage opening/closing by adopting a holistic view of factors driving the spot and forward market and prices.
Support building of physical liquidity and market share in assigned markets via business development efforts and participation in trade flows within measured risk vs reward assessment.
Develop market knowledge through constant dialogue and close communication with industry players, and customers at multiple levels so as to enhance the overall customer experience.
Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers and credit manager to ensure efficient execution and resolve routine problems.
Enter most routine data and run specialty reports from our contract management databases and systems.
Research and analyze on market trends.
Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in any field.
Early career professionals with no more than 4 years’ work experience in commodities/financial markets, private equity, hedge funds are welcome to apply.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent analytical facility with commercial acumen to provide solutions to business challenges.

Demonstrates strong interest in commodity/financial markets.
Commercially-minded, strong system thinker and ability to connect the dots.
Self-starter, entrepreneurial, innovative inclinations.
Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
