Bagging Operator
This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Bagging Operator, will operate production or warehouse machines that are similar and require limited set up and basic machine adjustments, perform preventative maintenance and assist in troubleshooting machine issues following established policies and procedures and frequent guidance. In this role, you will maximize throughput and produce quality product while following all food safety and regulatory polices as required.

- Shift Differential: $0.65/hr

Principal Accountabilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate equipment at site, including but not limited to packaging equipment, shipping computers, and pallet inverters
- Safely operate motorized vehicles used to move or lift products, equipment, or materials within and around plant
- Minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
- Operate computers to check production orders/schedule, print shipping paperwork and labels
- Input production into computer accurately
- Housekeeping tasks
- Support a culture of Zero Harm by following safety and environmental practices
- Assist in training new employees
- Comply with corporate policies and procedures related to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Feed Safety risks associated with products
- Support a culture of zero fatality, injury and illness
- Understand and proactively avoid environmental impact and potential risk to the businesses
- Perform general tasks around plant with minimal supervision
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
- Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Able to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Able to operate machinery, including a forklift
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays or different shifts with advance notice
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have at least 1 year of experience in production related work
- Basic computer skills
