QC Inspector (Tuas Based)
JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Quality Control Technician I, conducts analysis of materials and products using defined procedures and specifications to ensure results are aligned with specifications with regular guidance. In this role, you will test and conduct analysis of raw materials, materials in process and finished product to ensure products are in line with predetermined specifications.
Authorities:
Authorized to hold, release, and approve raw material, packaging material and finished products.
To approve day to day production label requirements
Over-all Job Objectives:
- Ensure that production and quality records are well filled up and that corrective actions have been taken in case of deviance.
- Optimize productivity by identifying anti-productive behaviors and company policy disrespects.
- Identifying behaviors that could lead to hygiene and safety issues.
- Ensure proper food safety practice (e.g. GMP and GWP) is in place and implemented accordingly; Identifying behaviors that could lead to hygiene and safety issues
- Ensure all quality control related aspects on food products are well covered.
- Inspect and report on deviation of packaging, raw material and finished goods.
Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all personnel respect Hygiene and safety rules.
- Verify and approve daily production labels
- Sampling and inspection of incoming raw materials, incoming packaging material and finished goods.
- Carry out finished goods troubleshooting for finished goods.
- Conduct ATP swab test to verify on the cleanliness of food contact equipments.
- Carry out sensory evaluation of incoming raw materials and finished goods.
- Carry out physical/chemical analysis of incoming raw material as well as the visual inspection of incoming packaging materials
- Ensure conformance of product quality of end products.
- Ensure lab tests are done according with the internal laboratory procedures.
- Ensure lab safety requirements are strictly followed at all times while working in the laboratory.
- Ensure that quality control records and database are maintained accordingly.
- Assist in customer complaints investigation.
- Responsible for the housekeeping of analytical and microbiological laboratories.
- Responsible for QC retained sample management.
- Assist in regulatory and external audits.
- Members of the Quality Control Circle (QCC) team.
- Responsible for the release of conforming finished goods, packaging materials, raw materials and the issuance of on-hold/reject labels for non-conforming products.
- Responsible for Statistical Process Control (SPC) data monitoring and collection.
- Manage pre-shipment sample request from customer and manage on the release of drop-shipments
- Update and prepare daily, weekly and month reports.
- Comply to the Environmental operational control work instructions.
- Assist in any Quality related tasks when required.
Job Specifications:
- Possess technical and analytical skills in Quality Control and Assurance
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Possess a good sensory skill for product evaluation and troubleshooting
- Demonstrate ability to handle work professionally, independently, and efficiently
- Possess attention to details
- Good interpersonal skills and able to interface with all levels, internally and externally, in a professional and responsive manner
- Conscientious, seizes opportunities and is proactive
- Monthly shift rotation basis (12 hours per shift)
Key Deliverables:
- Compiles and prepare monthly data and reports
- Perform other assigned duties as required
Competence Requirement:
- Minimum Diploma in Food Science or relevant discipline
- Preferably with Work at Height License
- Possess good watching skills
- Demonstrate efficiency in variance identification
- Must be of high integrity
