Job Purpose and Impact

The main responsibility of the Maintenance Planner is to maximize work effectiveness and efficiency by the provision of appropriate information for work scheduling and execution. This will be achieved through developing and deploying Maintenance job plans with sufficient and detailed information to maintain plant assets and equipment at an optimum cost. In addition, it is expected the person will identify opportunities to improve processes whilst complying with EHS and site standards. Activities will include development, alignment and implementation of reliability excellence practices, proactive maintenance and repair aligned to best practice application. 


Position is a permanent, full time Monday-Friday day based role based at the Hull site. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Research and compile information and feedback necessary to generate highly effective and detailed job plans (Mechanical bias).

  • Review contractor work packs to ensure completeness and compliance with Cargill standards and procedures prior to work commencing. 

  • Initiate the procurement of services, materials, special tools and unique items required in the job plans using relevant maintenance programs and database tools.

  • Prepare detailed job plans as required on general maintenance activities and schedule downtime and partner with other team members to identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce lost production.

  • Maintain custom databases to support specific work projects and processes.

  • Plan the execution of basic repair procedures and tasks to ensure compliance with the fundamental plant maintenance procedures and practices.

  • Review all completed work orders for completeness and accuracy and update the machinery history data in the tracking system as required.

  • Provide reports to keep the maintenance leaders informed of work progress and future work schedules.

  • Develop & publish a weekly schedule for the Maintenance & Reliability team, & report on adherence to schedule.

  • Plan & schedule works associated with plant shutdowns/phased shutdowns.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical qualification (HNC/HND) in Mechanical engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience in Mechanical Engineering in place of a qualification 

  • Knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System such as SAP 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office & computer-based planning/scheduling tools
