This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products. 

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Account Manager (Open to Remote) will focus on a few of the company's large or very complex customers within a designated geographic territory or market. In this role, you will handle critical or complex products that require excellent client relationship skills to maintain competitive positioning and accelerate growth.

This will be a home office role but needs to reside in the territory: Preferred locations are OH, KY, IL, IN, eastern PA.  Up to 50% travel is required to cover the area of responsibility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop a plan to establish and maintain account relationships and meet personal sales targets.
  • Develop a detailed account plan for the most strategic accounts in your territory and develop an overall territory analysis with key initiatives outlined to consistently grow the territory.
  • Coordinate use of resources to provide value added services to accounts.
  • Develop a network of relationships that provide significant input to planning product, price, and service strategies.
  • Prepare for the negotiation process and negotiate all accounts within the territory to meet financial objectives.
  • Support supervisor and other colleagues in developing new market opportunities in the designated territory or market.
  • Collaborate with different internal stakeholders to better understand and manage customer opportunities and requirements.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience in sales, business development or related field.
  • Strong presentation skills comfortable presenting in front of customers and face to face interaction.
  • Able and willing to travel up to 50%.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales experience working with large food manufacturing business.  
  • Experience in understanding customer needs, articulating customer objectives, and adding value to partnerships, demonstrated negotiation and value-based / consultative sales skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce, risk management tools or customer relationship management software.

    Applicant Information

    The expected salary for this position is $100,000 to 140,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
