Job Purpose and Impact

The EMEAI Process Safety Expert will serve as the regional process safety subject matter expert supporting approximately 44 manufacturing sites across the EMEAI region. This newly created role is responsible for strengthening process safety performance, regulatory compliance, and operational risk management across a diverse manufacturing network.

In this role, you will provide technical guidance, coaching, and hands-on support to manufacturing facilities, partnering closely with site leadership teams to identify risks, develop action plans, and drive the implementation of process safety improvements. You will help define, develop, and deploy corporate process safety standards while supporting continuous improvement across Process Safety Management (PSM) programs throughout the region.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify risks and lead the development of action plans to improve process safety programs, processes and systems.
  • Serve as the regional subject matter expert for Process Safety Management, including Dust Hazard Assessments (DHA), Seveso requirements and ATEX regulations, providing technical guidance and support across EMEAI manufacturing sites.
  • Provide technical, regulatory and strategic consultation, support and training on process safety risk management requirements and tools.
  • Execute Corporate, regional and local standards for process safety.
  • Monitor and analyze leading and lagging metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Engineering field or equivalent experience
  • Advanced level of English both written and verbal
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or another relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Strong process safety expertise within a manufacturing, industrial, or high-hazard operating environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and risk management practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Dust Hazard Assessments (DHA), Seveso Directive, and ATEX regulations.
  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing locations or working within a regional/global role.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple countries and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience conducting site assessments, identifying operational risks, and driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Experience within Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH) or other complex manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide coaching and technical support across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50%) across the EMEAI region.
