Job Purpose and Impact
The Supervisor RR Cook is responsible for the execution, oversight, and continuous improvement of the plant sanitation program, ensuring all food safety, regulatory, environmental health and safety (EHS), and product quality standards are met. This role leads sanitation operations across departments and shifts, drives compliance with master and daily sanitation schedules, and serves as a subject‑matter expert in sanitation processes and chemical usage while maintaining a strong hands‑on presence on the production floor.
The Supervisor RR Cook plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and high‑quality production environment by leading sanitation operations with composure, professionalism, and accountability, particularly in high‑pressure operational settings. This role requires strong situational awareness and the ability to resolve conflict through clear communication and fact‑based decision‑making while consistently upholding safety and quality standards without compromise. The position plans and executes sanitation activities by establishing priorities, scheduling work, assigning resources, and maintaining frequent communication with sanitation staff and key stakeholders to ensure timely and effective execution. The Supervisor RR Cook works closely with contractors, suppliers, and technical teams to troubleshoot sanitation issues, identify root causes of non‑conformities, and drive sustainable corrective actions. Through hands‑on leadership, the role oversees the cleaning and sanitization of equipment, surfaces, utensils, and the plant environment, providing direction, motivation, and technical support to ensure sanitation practices meet regulatory, food safety, and company requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee and actively participate in the cleaning and sanitization of processing equipment, utensils, food contact and non‑food contact surfaces, and the overall plant environment, providing hands‑on leadership, motivation, and technical support to sanitation employees.
- Execute and manage the Master Sanitation Schedule and daily sanitation activities by establishing priorities, assigning work, coordinating across departments and shifts, and communicating effectively with operations, quality, safety, and maintenance stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with all EHS, food safety, quality, and regulatory policies, procedures, and standards, taking immediate action to address non‑conformances.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert on sanitation chemicals, including proper selection, storage, handling, dispensing, inventory management, and safe usage, and adjust sanitation approaches based on competing priorities and operational constraints.
- Manage sanitation chemical and supply inventories to ensure availability, proper controls, and cost‑effective usage while maintaining compliance and safety standards.
- Analyze sanitation performance metrics, identify trends and root causes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including facilitating regular cross‑functional sanitation meetings to assign and track corrective actions.
- Develop, update, and maintain sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) and verify frontline compliance through observation, audits, and follow‑up actions.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop sanitation employees, including conducting hiring, performance management, and disciplinary activities, while holding self and others accountable for results.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of one year of directly related sanitation, production, or food manufacturing experience.
- Ability to work effectively across departments and shifts, including overnight and weekend operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of sanitation processes, cleaning chemistry, chemical storage, handling and dispensing systems, and sanitary design principles.
- Experience with industry quality systems, inspection programs, and regulatory audits.
- One year or more of supervisory or lead experience in a sanitation or production environment. Demonstrated experience complying with EHS, food safety, and quality systems and procedures.
- Prior experience leading or supporting sanitation teams in overnight or weekend operations
