This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

The Plant Engineer will oversee capital and expense projects across the Monticello, MN facility, including the management of personnel, budgets, and schedules, to ensure successful project outcomes. This includes the development of operation, safety, and food safety risk mitigation plans. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across all areas of the project to understand their needs, expectations, and constraints, aligning them to achieve successful project delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Prepare and execute strategies and project plans for engineering and technical initiatives, including progress monitoring, issue resolution, budget control, schedule coordination, status reporting, and other related tasks.
Develop project schedules by analyzing plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
Review project and budget status, coordinate schedules, prepare reports, and recommend appropriate actions.
Lead the project team and manage the work of contractors.
Collaborate with regional domain leads to obtain domain-specific expertise for project execution.
Independently resolve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating more complex matters as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading third-party resources to achieve business results
  • Proficiency in engineering and project management software such as AutoCAD, SAP, Clarizen, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Reliability Excellence Deliverables
  • Experience with utilities such as ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and electrical
  • Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as international codes and regulations related to engineering and technical projects

  • The expected salary for this position is $80K–$110K. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
