Job Purpose and Impact

The Maintenance & Reliability Manager leads and develops a team of highly motivated professional crafts men with a focus on best maintenance results and supports the operation team to achieve best plant performances. To identify improvement and cost potentials, lead time and inventory reduction, the M&R Manager is familiar with the methods and tools of the continuous improvement p. We seek a seasoned professional with the ability to foster a culture that builds, operates and maintains plants that are safe and reliable. In this role you will assist in project planning, application of best practices, training, support and people management. The M&R Manager is also responsible to develop and monitor the maintenance budget to achieve the financial targets of the maintenance department.  
The second focus point is the maintenance reliability process. The M&R manager leads and develops the maintenance reliability team and the maintenance reliability process. This includes a living asset health process, the root cause process as well as the spare part and the lifetime optimization for the plant assets.
In his role the M&R Manager is part of the plant management team and will also have a strong focus on a high safety and food safety standard in maintenance as well as in the whole plant.
Full-time job at the plant in Berlin Reinickendorf. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage maintenance of company assets while achieving maximum plant reliability within the costs planning with engaged and high performing employees
  • Increase plant reliability and performance efficiency, while minimizing unscheduled and unplanned breakdown
  • Implementing deployment and overseeing M&R processes through a medium – long term M&R Business Plan including a performance monitoring systems and scorecards
  • Ensuring compliance with local/country/European regulations and business policies 
  • Deploy appropriate RE tools including 5 Why and cause-effect charts 
  • Support the plant Environmental, Health, Personnel Safety and Food Safety processes by executing and championing Cargill environment, health and safety procedures 
  • Effectively managing costs through a consolidated package of tools which ensure to have always a costs situation adherent to what happens in reality 
  • Responsible for the people management in area of responsibility including recruiting, retention, development, engagement of teams and engagement plans where needed
  • Demonstrating positive two-way communications, fair and consistent administration of company policy and procedures, responsiveness to employee concerns and problems.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Professional experience on a comparable position in food industry 

  • Experience with audit compliance, root/cause analysis process

  • Experience in managing a team with various functions

  • Fluent German and English language 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operations planning, safety and quality ownership

  • Knowledge of safety principles and methodologies

  • Lean six sigma 

  • Knowledge of SAP
