Job Purpose and Impact

Reporting to the Production Manager at our Baupte site (310 employees), you will join the Process Development Group team within Cargill Starches, Sweeteners & Texturizers.
Your primary mission will be to ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, actively contributing to the site's competitiveness, safety, and environmental performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for manufacturing processes, responsible for reliability and continuous improvement
  • Lead the execution of projects related to process engineering and process safety
  • Develop and maintain performance indicators (KPIs) for production lines and operations, and use them constructively to drive process improvement
  • Participate in deviation analyses and the development of corrective solutions as a process expert
  • Develop and execute improvement projects aimed at reducing costs (yield, energy, productivity, waste reduction)
  • Improve the safety of people, processes, food safety standards, and environmental impact
  • Ensure the transfer of knowledge and best practices (leading practices) within production teams
  • Write procedures and ensure their proper implementation on the floor
  • Provide support to engineering teams on projects impacting manufacturing processes
  • Develop a multi-year process improvement roadmap to maintain the competitiveness of the industrial facility
  • When necessary, provide temporary coverage for the Production Supervisor to ensure operational continuity

Qualifications

  • Chemical Engineering degree or General Engineering degree with a specialization in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production and/or process engineering.
  • Continuous improvement certifications (Lean Six Sigma / Green Belt) are considered a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams. Strong natural leadership skills and the ability to confidently defend and support positions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in French and English.
