Originally built by ProGold LLC, the Wahpeton facility began operation in 1996 and was later acquired by Cargill in 1997 through a 10-year operating lease. The plant is capable of grinding 93,000 bushels per day, producing high fructose corn syrup for the food and beverage industry; corn gluten feed and corn gluten meal for the cattle, dairy, poultry and pet food industries; and corn germ for further processing to serve the corn oil industry.

The Wahpeton team commitment is to hiring the right people, continuous improvement, setting high standards, and utilizing world-class maintenance practices - an excellent formula for success. The plant has approximately 125 employees who have the opportunity to grow and develp their careers within Cargill. It has a great history of growing leaders from within through a wide array of development opportunities, and new employees are provided with the training and support needed to be successful.
