Spruce Grove Protein Processing Plant

The City of Spruce Grove is located in Central Alberta, Canada, which is 30 kilometers from downtown Edmonton. Spruce Grove is part of the Edmonton Capital Region and is the ninth largest city in Alberta with a population of 37,645. Spruce Grove has some great history, as the Homesteaders in the area date back to 1879. Spruce Grove is also known as a great place to live, work and raise a family. The City offers a wide variety of shopping and restaurants, along with plenty of recreation and leisure options including more than 40 kilometers of all-weather trails that connect to many of the City’s neighborhoods, parks and playgrounds.

Cargill is located in the industrial area of the City of Spruce Grove and is a fully-integrated grind facility. The plant employs approximately 106 employees and grinds over 300,000 lbs of beef per day. Cargill is regulated by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and adheres to the highest integrity and investment into food safety and quality, performing over 2,400 recorded quality and food safety checks every day.
