This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Supervisor, Canola Meal Merchandising will lead and direct complex merchandising work. In this role, you will handle a customer base and fulfill transactions, delivering commodities that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and price. You will lead and develop a team that sells Canola Meal to feed customers via truck, train, and vessel.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work directly with customers and business counterparts to develop business solutions to meet their needs for a specific product.
  • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop sales execution strategies for new and existing markets for startup of Regina crush plant.
  • Connect with Cargill’s global meal network to find price discovery, market/freight arbitrages, and futures/spread trading opportunities.
  • Communicate and interact with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers and credit managers to ensure efficient execution.
  • Research and analyze various freight opportunities in the marketplace to maximize margin.
  • Determine monthly contract and inventory valuations. Generate monthly plant PNL estimate.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of supervisory experience
