Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner Plant job executes and delivers complex people processes focused on people and culture strategy, implementation of complex solutions to improve performance and engagement, workforce plans, learning programs and talent activities. In this role, you will partner with key stakeholders for our Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain Canadian teams that include grain and crop inputs and export facilities. 

Key Accountabilities

  • OPERATIONAL PROCESSES: Supports the execution of complex plant HR operational processes and practices, partnering with employees and leaders to ensure effective people’s support, compliance, and a positive employee experience across the plant.
  • BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP: Partners closely with operational leaders to execute local people and culture strategies, providing guidance and support on workforce planning, employee and labor relations, talent development, engagement and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION: Partners to develop and implement complex solutions to improve performance, engagement, recruiting and retention to increase productivity and mitigate people risks while also building an inclusive culture.
  • PROGRAM EXECUTION: Deploys workforce plans, learning programs, talent acquisition activities and other talent programs and projects at the location.
  • METRICS & ANALYSIS: Leverages reports, dashboards and workforce insights to support decision-making and drive people and business outcomes at plant locations.
  • DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION: Communicates and adopts complex diversity, equity and inclusion policies and practices in plant locations.
  • ACTIVITY DEPLOYMENT: Serves as location lead to drive local deployment of related activities and partners across the teams to best serve the client.
  • HR SUPPORT: Acts as a trusted HR partner, supporting operational leaders and employees by addressing employee and labor relations matters, guiding investigations, responding to inquiries, and helping resolve complex people issues.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience
  • Experience conducting investigations, anticipating issues, problem solving and implementing solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement Human Resourcs processes and client focused solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and lead by influence
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/Certificate or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Human Resources support experience within the agricultural industry
  • CPHR Designation
  • Fluency in French (written and spoken)
  • Union experience
