Job Purpose and Impact

The Regional Sanitation Specialist - (Remote) ensures top-tier food safety and sanitation across multiple facilities. This role involves verifying and maintaining sanitation processes, food safety systems, and hazard analysis. The specialist collaborates with operations for corrective actions, leads food safety audits, and manages compliance with regulations. They also handle the pathogen control program and investigate food safety incidents, ensuring timely corrective actions. The specialist resolves moderately complex issues independently and escalates more complex ones as needed.

Key Accountabilities

•    Conduct verification and maintenance of the sanitation processes, food safety and quality systems & hazard analysis
•    prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, plant environment and finished product.
•    Collaborates with operations on the initiation of corrective action and preventative measures when necessary.
•    Ensure adherence to corporate, regulatory, customer and facility food safety and quality requirements and completion of corrections and corrective actions.
•    Lead relevant regional, corporate and regulatory food safety focused audits.
•    Act as food safety team leader, coordinate and lead the food safety team and overseeing the food safety management system and management review.
•    Manage food and feed safety management system compliance to appropriate government regulations.
•    keep up to date the pathogen control program and investigate / follow up on food safety incidents that occur in the plant to ensure they are reported, and that corrective action and permanent corrections are taken.
•    Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
•    Other duties as assigned

Position information:

  • This position is fully remote
  • Plant is based in Wichita, KS
  • Work schedule: M – F Dayshift and some occasional night - weekend  
  • Travelling up to 30% or more 

The expected salary for this position is $101K- $108K. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

•    Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
•    Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience (Proficient in pivot tables and graphing in excel)
•    Fluent in English
•    Experience creating Master Sanitation programs
•    Experience with the Food Safety System Certification 22000
•    Experience working with SAP or similar
•    Knowledge of food/feed safety industry practices and standards.
•    Knowledge in microbiology fundamentals  
•    Minimum of three years of related work experience

•    Minimum one year of work experience in quality across food and/or feed industry
•    Spending 30-40% of the time on the floor facility 

Preferred Qualifications 

•    Experience as Sanitation specialist 
•    Qualified food safety auditor
•    Management of quality and food safety programs
