This position is in Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.
Job Purpose and Impact
- The Senior User Experience Designer designs and develops engaging user experiences for the Animal Nutrition and Health Digital Nutrition product portfolio. Under minimal supervision, this role translates complex user needs and business requirements into web and mobile features of enterprise and commercial applications, ensuring designs align with brand guidelines and accessibility standards. This job coaches and partners with cross functional teams, including product managers, engineers, business partners, and other designers, to ensure products meet user needs and business goals.
Key Accountabilities
- COLLABORATION: Lead collaboration with product managers, developers and other partners to gain understanding of user needs and business goals while designing visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that align with brand guidelines and improve the overall user experience and ensures designs are responsive and accessible across various devices and platforms.
- USER RESEARCH & ANALYSIS: Research and assess user behavior and preferences through interviews, surveys and usability testing to gather insights and understand user perspectives on ease of use, value perception, utility, efficiency and other metrics to inform design decisions and analyzes research data to drive continuous improvement.
- DOCUMENTATION DEVELOPMENT: Prepare and review user personas, journey maps, and other user experience documentation to support design processes.
- BRAND CONSISTENCY: Provide oversight to ensure designs are consistent with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
- USER EXPERIENCE BEST PRACTICES: Research, coach other team members, and stay up to date with industry trends and standard methodologies in user experience design to drive continuous improvement of user experience design practices.
- DESIGN CREATION: Use design tools to draft wireframes, prototypes, components and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas, concepts and strategies while finding opportunities for improvement.
- DESIGN ITERATION: Incorporate feedback from users and other partners to refine designs, create wireframes, mockups, components, and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts and user flows, and lead iteration on designs based on feedback to improve user experiences.
- USABILITY TESTING: Lead usability testing to evaluate the effectiveness of design solutions, analyze test results, and iterate on designs to influence improved usability and user satisfaction.
- TOOLING: Apply proficiency in product design and prototype tooling and in-depth knowledge of user testing software.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
- Professional experience using Figma as a design tool to facilitate wireframing, prototype development, and component design.
Short Description
Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
The expected salary for this position is $95,000- $150,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
