Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Product Line Specialist – Edible Oils, Core will create and deliver distinctive value to the business. In this role, you will be accountable for the tactical execution of commercial activities and aid in setting strategic direction for Canola oil, Corn oil, and Cotton Oil Product lines. This role will also partner with product line leadership to evaluate and execute the Go-To-Market approach, pursue business development opportunities, assist in contract negotiations, be involved with customer interactions, define product line strategy, and establish best/common processes to drive efficiencies and maximize margins.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute product line business plans for responsible product lines that support product line leadership priorities.  Will execute product line plans to deliver budgeted gross profit via margin management, operational excellence, project execution, and facilitating organic growth
  • Provide guidance and act as point person for respective product lines in IBP process while doing profitability analysis to analyze and interpret financial and commercial data to define corrective or tactical actions to improve profitability  
  • Partner with the sales team to build a strong opportunities pipeline and be the commercial resource in the commercialization process to make recommendations on advancing new projects based on the business case.
  • Partner with functional teams like Trading, research and development, supply chain, operations, and finance on Product line related requests such as pricing, contractual questions, general market information, industry analyses or non-standard requests
  • Be the primary point of contact for respective Product Lines and assigned customer responsibilities and collaborate with functional teams to find solutions to improve overall profitability of product line and assigned customers.
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders and effectively communicate the product line priorities.  Ensure proper alignment across functions by translating business plans and strategy to tactical goals and outcomes. 
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial or Product Line experience
  • Trading / Merchandising experience

Location: Wayzata, MN 

The expected salary for this position is $97,000 - $166,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
