Job Purpose and Impact

The Regional Distribution Supervisor will oversee the third-party logistics (3PL) network with a high focus on Eastern US distribution planning for the Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate business.  In this role, you will lead, advise and make decisions on all major logistics and shuttle activities for a team covering 3PL inbound/outbound transactions, business and people partnerships, 3PL resource, budget and project management, reporting and analysis.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and develop a team by empowering ownership and accountability of processes & metrics in support of the 3PL network, driving improvements to ensure superior service to customers. 
  • Lead performance across various aspects of the 3PL network to include cost management, problem resolution, and metrics improvements
  • Collaborate with other business stakeholders to effectively control service and costs meet strategic goals and seasonal business requirements.
  • Standardize and monitor key performance indicators and in process metrics and educate and hold team and 3PL accountable. and recommend and implement improvements that impact operations related to inbound/outbound transactions and provide feedback to the internal stakeholders on best practices and benchmark standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand customer and product specific requirements and develop and implement solutions to meet those needs.
  • Partner with the corporate transportation and logistics sourcing team to assist in contract and rate negotiations.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships with 3PL & shuttle carrier partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, government and regulatory agency transportation related requirements.
  • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is open to work from a remote, home office location anywhere in the United States OR the Wayzata, MN Headquarters

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or inventory management
  • Experience with vendor relationship management
  • Experience with continuous improvement principles and practices
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Distribution planning for a complex network
  • Experience in the food or beverage industry
  • Previous supervisory experience

Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $100,000-$130,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
