Job Purpose and Impact

The Key Account Manager – MHS Pet (Open to Remote) will focus on driving Cargill’s Micronutrition and Health Solutions (MHS) additives business across the pet food, treats, and supplement categories, including a focus on new customer acquisition and development of collaborative business relationships with key strategic partners and accounts. In this role, you will drive adoption of Cargill postbiotic and phytogenic solutions, including our industry leading TruMune and EpiCor postbiotics.  You will support our partners’ interest in well-researched, effective functional health solutions and accelerate adoption of these powerful ingredients to their finished products and brands.  Pet parents want their pets to live longer, happier lives, and you will contribute by helping these brands recognize their unique vision in the marketplace.  You will support development of Cargill’s commercial Pet strategies, and craft medium to long range initiatives to protect, grow, and diversify our sales base in North America. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead new customer acquisition efforts and grow our pipeline of business opportunity.
  • Develop client retention and growth plans and strategies for developing profitable business with our existing account base.
  • Identify and handle interactions with varied customer roles – marketing, technical, commercial – and be able to flex your approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Resolve problems and ensure customers receive high quality service.
  • Work closely with other important Cargill functional leaders to support commercial efforts, including Technical Services, Marketing and Global counterparts.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience in sales, business development or related field
  • Sales and category experience with pet food, treats, supplement and/or pet ingredient categories 
  • Able and willing to travel up to 25% travel
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong drive for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, with a proactive, independent, and action-oriented mindset
  • Ample depth of knowledge of pet category market landscape and key drivers of growth
  • Experience working with Salesforce

Applicant Information

The expected salary for this position is $130,000- $180,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
