This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.


Job Purpose and Impact

The Inland waterways dispatcher will help coordinate inbound and outbound logistical operations, including inventory management, warehousing and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products. In this role, you will coordinate barge freight movement along the inland waterways to meet customer needs and contract obligations within our productivity goals. We seek a professional who will collaborate with our dispatchers, sales department, barge superintendent, and claims manager to maximize the utilization of equipment. proactively identify customer and cost-cutting solutions, gather and analyzes industry data to identify trends..

Key Accountabilities

  • Independently collect and organize fleet related information from internal and external clients and customers and conduct computer data entry to track and document movement.
  • Organize an effective system that meets the organization's inventory control needs through efficient transportation of raw materials.
  • Monitor activities from receiving, locating and dispatching, sourcing, purchasing and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Help plan and direct our fleet activities.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Willingness to work/be on call nights, weekends, and holidays.

Position Information

  • Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
  • This is position is open to fully remote.
  • Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
