Job Purpose and Impact

The Audit Risk Advisor is accountable for developing, facilitating, and maintaining the continuous risk assessment and audit planning processes, including related technology enablers for Corporate Audit. As a recognized subject matter expert in the field, this job will be integral in working with the Audit Leadership Team and Risk Advisors to drive cohesive, well-coordinated execution. In addition, the Audit Risk Advisor will have individual ownership and execution responsibilities for the strategy risk domain which includes risks related to acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, etc.

Key Accountabilities

  • OVERALL RISK ASSESSMENT: Owns and drives an efficient and consistently high-quality continuous risk assessment process that produces clear prioritization of risks across Cargill’s complex landscape of businesses, functions and geographies. This includes the ability to convey risk assessment results at multiple levels of the organization, including executive leadership and the Audit Committee.  Partners with Cargill’s ERM program and other GRC functions to maintain a risk assessment process that meets the needs of Corporate Audit while also being highly integrated across relevant teams.
  • OVERALL RISK ASSESSMENT: Corporate Audit’s risk assessment process is reliant on execution from the Corporate Audit leadership team and Risk Advisor team for their respective areas of focus across businesses and risk domains. This position will be responsible for ensuring the process is executed in a coordinated way, aligned with our standards and producing the results we need to provide our stakeholders with meaningful risk insights and to drive our audit plan.
  • STRATEGY DOMAIN RISK ASSESSMENT: This position will also have individual responsibility for the strategy risk domain which includes leveraging external and internal information, along with frequent stakeholder interactions, to conduct risk assessment activities and maintain a risk-based audit plan for the strategy risk domain.
  • OVERALL AUDIT PLAN: Leads the development of the overall audit plan, tied directly to the comprehensive risk assessment results. Collaborates with the Corporate Audit leadership team and Risk Advisor team to ensure the audit plan is balanced, well-supported and clearly communicated.
  • STRATEGY DOMAIN AUDIT PLAN: Proposes project ideas and completes project planning for audits focused in the strategy domain.
  • CONSULTATION: Trains and coaches Corporate Audit on risk management processes. Serve as an expert in risk and control, advising Corporate Audit and stakeholders through various formal and informal channels to improve Cargill’s overall risk management practices.
  • COLLABORATION: Partners with business and function leaders to maintain knowledge of internal developments within the strategy risk domain, including key initiatives and transformation efforts.
  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Maintains knowledge of external trends, emerging and innovative risks to inform risk assessments, and identifies and implements techniques to monitor and measure risks using data analytics for the risk domain.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFIFCATIONS

  • Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience with leading internal audit and / or enterprise risk management risk assessment activities
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying apprised of leading practices
  • Experience using GRC technology to facilitate a risk assessment process
  • Proven understanding of risk and control frameworks such as COSO
  • Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards such as the Institute of Internal Auditors
  • Ability to travel globally up to 25%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experiencing in designing a risk assessment program, leveraging technology
  • Experience working in a global organization; ability to navigate the complexities of global operations and cross-cultural collaboration
  • Certified Internal Auditor or other risk management certification

Compensation Information

The expected salary for this position is $135,000 - $170,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
