Job Purpose and Impact

The Associate Buyer, Plant Services, will handle sourcing activities within the Plant Materials and Services category for North America. In this role, you will coordinate and execute low to medium complexity procurement requirements in alignment with business requirements and in cooperation with the North America category team.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Execute medium complexity sourcing processes, including but not limited to RFx activities, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and market research. 
  • Drive implementation of local or regional sourcing decisions and support local or regional implementation of global sourcing decisions. 
  • Provide inputs to the regional category team for category strategy development and execution. 
  • Build and apply a comprehensive understanding of local, stakeholder, and procurement landscape. 
  • Follow established procedures to select suppliers for procurement of materials, goods, services, and/or supplies. 
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team in support of sourcing activities, including but not limited to technical/scope definition, legal and commercial review, document control, and adherence to Cargill standards for safety, quality, and supplier performance management. 
  • Handle basic to medium complexity issues and problems under moderate supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft suite experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, maintenance, facilities, or construction services. 
  • Prior sourcing, procurement, and/or supplier relationship management experience.  
  • Market research and benchmarking experience.
