This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Maintenance and Reliability Superintendent will lead and execute the deployment of maintenance practices aligned to production needs. For the Salt manufacturing facility in Watkins Glen, New York you will lead your Maintenance and Reliability team through complex activities to maintain and improve capacity and quality standards while utilizing an existing reliability- centered maintenance foundation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise the execution of specific equipment maintenance strategy for each asset involved with containing, controlling or safeguarding highly hazardous processes.
  • Implement and monitor methodologies to improve operational effectiveness in compliance with regulatory codes and standards.
  • Lead the integration of contractor partners and equipment providing support to the plant.
  • Partner with regional leadership to develop area leading practices.
  • Oversee the development of the operational related budget to track progress against estimates.
  • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Process improvement project experience or experience with process improvement methodology (Lean Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience

Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $100,000-$130,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
