Job Purpose and Impact
The Aqua Nutrition formulator will oversee the nutrition system for the Canada Aquaculture business and make sure the products meet the requirements of the specific species, customer, and commercial intent of the product.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the nutrition system and make sure the products meet the requirements of the specific
species, customer, and commercial intent of the product. Perform feed formulations when needed and become the go to person for ingredient know how and nutrient evaluation related questions. - Optimize nutritional requests, crafting the best offer from a nutritional and commercial perspective. Communicate any
opportunities for cost savings in the product portfolio, projects related to ingredient, nutrient and production know how. - Implement and evaluate opportunities for purchasing new raw materials.
- Participate in pricing of products, and raw material consumption and pricing management into formulation.
- Implement new technologies for key customers.
- Work closely and take guidance from the commercial team and other business functions to ensure that products meet the
requirements of both internal and external stakeholders based on cost, nutrition, quality, sourcing, and other variable inputs. - Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma/certificate or bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities in business operations and keep track.
- Computer literate, proficiency in Excel and formulation software.
- Business acumen and Customer-focused attitude.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Nutritional knowledge combined with formulation experience
- Master’s or PHD in Aqua or Animal Nutrition
