Job Purpose and Impact

The VAT Compliance Team Lead position is part of the VAT Compliance team, which provides Tax reporting services to multiple business units in EMEA region. In this position you will lead a team of Tax accountants, be responsible for the monthly VAT and Intrastat reporting for assigned countries in EMEA region. You will communicate with businesses and tax personnel on issues arising with the VAT and Intrastat reporting, compliance transactions booked in the General ledgers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan and execute day to day tax reporting activities and coordinate the daily accounting activities of the team.
  • Ensure day to day tax reporting activities are executed effectively with appropriate controls, training and documentation, prepare and review Standard working procedures in accordance with internal policies and local legislations
  • Ensure time sensitive processes are completed including full balance sheet reconciliations, VAT and Intrastat returns preparation, submissions towards the relevant Tax authorities, arranging VAT payments and tracking VAT refunds
  • Actively participate and support major projects and initiatives that impact the tax compliance process
  • Review and follow monthly teams KPIs, participate in process improvement.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning applications
  • Good working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of  four years of experience in Tax accounting, Tax Advisory, Tax Auditing
  • Previous experience in Shared service center would considered an advantage
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate/interact with multiple levels of the organization
  • Interest in people management skills development 
  • Time management skills in highly dynamic work environment
