Job Purpose and Impact

The Regional Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist will assist in the execution of strong environmental, health and safety polices and standards to achieve goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries and zero environmental incidents.   In this role, you will apply your environmental, health and safety knowledge to define, develop and deploy corporate standards. You will work with a team to help ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards and drive continuous improvement of health and safety performance and results.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist in the identification of risks and lead the development of action plans to improve programs, processes and systems in a manufacturing environment at multiple facilities.
• Collaborate to develop strategies to deploy environmental, health and safety standards and expand health and safety expertise and capability.
• Provide technical, regulatory and strategic consultation and support.
• Partner in the execution of corporate standards for environmental, health and safety.
• Monitor and analyze leading and lagging metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50% 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Progression towards technical health and safety certification through an external professional organization
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience working in a multi geographical environment
  • Environmental health and safety management system deployment experience
  • Health and safety project background
  • Experience with OSHA regulations and state and federal environmental compliance including permitting and legal regulations

  • This position is open to candidates in the following locations: White Marsh, MDTampa, FL;Savage, MN or Buffalo, IA.

  • The expected salary for this position is approximately $105K to $125K. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal.
