Job Purpose and Impact

The Utility Engineer develop, operates, and improves utility and energy management systems that support manufacturing operations. This role focuses on system reliability, cost efficiency, compliance, and digital visibility of utilities such as electricity, steam, refrigeration, water, wastewater, and compressed air. We seek a seasoned professional with the ability to foster a culture that builds, operates and maintains plants that are safe and reliable. The role supports safe, reliable plant operations through technical leadership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support operations by analyzing utility failures, downtime, energy losses, and system inefficiencies using data, digital monitoring tools, and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate execution of complex utility repairs, upgrades, and improvement projects in collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure utilities support food safety, quality, and operational requirements which includes technical optimization of processes.
  • Monitor and maintain digital solutions such as SCADA systems, IoT sensors, dashboards, and monitoring tools to visualize real-time utility performance.
  • Identify and lead utility-related improvement, energy efficiency, water reduction, and cost-saving initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Energy or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with audit compliance, root/cause analysis process.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in utilities, energy management, or industrial manufacturing support.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, energy monitoring, IoT sensors, or data visualization tools such as Power BI or SAP.
