Job Purpose and Impact
The Water Treatment Operator I, will assist in the operation and controlling of equipment to purify waste water with a basic understanding and under frequent guidance. In this role, you will regulate the flow of water through the operation of electric motors, pumps and valves in compliance with safety, quality and regulatory policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Under direct guidance, regulate flow of raw water into treatment plant by operating and controlling electric motors, pumps and valves while maintaining housekeeping in the wastewater area.
- Assist with the startup, shut down and process monitoring of the pre-treatment wastewater area.
- Learn and train on production outcomes, quantity and quality to ensure environmental and food safety requirements are within specifications.
- Participate in conversations with environment, health and safety and food safety, quality and regulatory authorities to identify the most effective approach for implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures.
- Learn wastewater operations to ensure policies and procedures related to employee, food safety and environmental compliance.
- Assist with the startup, shutdown and monitoring of wastewater area.
- Other duties as assigned
