Join our growing team as we begin #buildingthefutureofcanola in Regina.  Located in the Global Transportation Hub, our new state-of-the-art facility is projected to have an annual production capacity of 1 million metric tonnes and will provide a consistent and fast point of delivery for farmers and end users. Cargill expects the facility will add approximately 70 full-time positions by harvest 2025.

Principal Accountabilities: 

  • Operate all equipment that is associated with boiler and turbine operations and Wastewater Treatment Facilities. 
  • Monitor and adjust operation using computerized and controlled systems to meet department requirements.  
  • Verify water quality through testing, adding chemical treatment as necessary as defined by SOPs and chemical supplier guidelines. 
  • Process samples utilizing lab equipment to obtain and record values on a computer spreadsheet and collect samples for several process areas. Ensure accurate information recorded. 
  • Execute different activities under proper permit and procedure conditions and supervision (i.e. confined space, break line, LOTO, etc.) 
  • Implement methodologies to improve operational effectiveness in compliance with regulatory codes and standards. 
  • Control traffic through department and ensure that all visitors and contractors follow plant safety rules.  
  • Proactively participate in autonomous maintenance, energy efficiency, continuous improvement and in any other initiative implemented at the site. 
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment utilized by facility; determine immediate and long-range needs for housekeeping, maintenance and repair work.  Enter work orders utilizing maintenance computer program.   
  • Assist truck drivers with loading or unloading chemicals. 
  • Assist to lead the integration of contractor partners and equipment providing support to the plant force. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Basic Requirements:     

  • Must possess, and retain, a Class 2 or 3 Power Engineering certificate  
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada 
  • Must be 18 years or older 
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written) 
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation 
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, etc., to work in elevated areas of the plant, and must be able to work in confined spaces  
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator 
  • Basic use of a computer 
  • Possess a valid, full Canadian Driver’s Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment  
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends and holidays with advance notice 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Minimum two years of directly related work experience
  • Knowledge of related tools, processes controls and area technology systems 
  • Experience working with an enterprise resource planning platform, such as SAP
  • Experience operating wastewater treatment processes
  • Experience with co-generation facilities     

Training will be provided at one of our current facilities in Clavet, SK or Camrose, AB.
