This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures. 

Job Purpose and Impact

The Laboratory Analyst will perform routine chemical analyses in accordance with Cargill methodologies, prepare reagents and materials required for testing, work with laboratory databases, coordinate and verify data, and confirm calibration accuracy based on laboratory results. The role will also support the development of analytical systems, implementation of best practices, and standardization projects. 

We offer a fixed-term replacement contract valid until October 2027.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform routine chemical analyses in accordance with test requests and laboratory schedules. 
  • Coordinate and maintain accurate data in databases in line with laboratory standards. 
  • Monitor data quality and track process non-conformities. 
  • Provide user support in basic troubleshooting related to laboratory equipment, software, and data transfer. 
  • Prepare analytical reports. 
  • Resolve day-to-day issues under the supervision of the manager and escalate more complex matters as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BSc/BEng) in Chemistry or a related field, along with laboratory work experience. 
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets and data analysis tools. 
  • Experience working with databases and preparing reports. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of quality management systems and customer quality programs. 
  • Experience working with laboratory analysis software.
