Job Purpose and Impact

The oilseed processing facility in Newcastle consists of seed receival and storage, preparation, extraction, refining, packaging, tank storage facility, truck loading, shipping terminal and the necessary utilities and infrastructure.


The Maintenance & Reliability Supervisor is responsible for maintenance and reliability management for these operations.  Activities include development, alignment & implementation of reliability programs; prevention, maintenance and repair; project planning, contractor management; leading practice application, training and support; and people management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities to maximise asset reliability, plant performance and operational uptime.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with reliability and operational teams to enhance maintenance strategies, equipment performance and plant competitiveness.
  • Supervise, coach and develop maintenance personnel, including training, performance management and fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, stores operations and procurement to optimise cost and plant availability.
  • Analyse reliability data and equipment failures, conduct root cause investigations, and oversee maintenance projects from planning through to execution. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical) or relevant Trades Background.
  • Experience in maintenance and reliability within an industrial manufacturing environment, with exposure to people leadership preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS platforms (Maximo or SAP preferred) and the ability to create and manage work orders, notifications and maintenance records.
  • Strong understanding of reliability methodologies including RCA, RCM, FMEA and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with food manufacturing, food safety and hygienic engineering experience considering highly desirable.
