This position is in Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Field Representative - Retail will participate in face-to- face and remote selling to our new and existing customers, selling directly or indirectly through various sales channels. We seek a results-oriented professional who, with guidance, will help assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions. This role is part of the sales team in Animal Nutrition, will support the state of Indiana and additional Illinois territories, travel is required to cover the territory.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to developing and delivering sales bids, presentations and proposals and participating in product demonstrations.
  • Help identify and contact prospective customers, building relationships to generate future sales and repeat business.
  • With basic knowledge of products, their characteristics and market, sell and stimulate demand for a series of products.
  • Plan daily activities, including customer visits, grand Opening Events, Joint Opportunities, Promotions, and Groundswell strategies while delivering on key sales opportunities in the geography. 
  • Follow market and competition evolution, passing information to senior staff.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • Ability to travel up to 80% (occasional weekends and overnights)
  • Drivers license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of related work experience 
  • Knowledge or experience in the animal nutrition retail industry
  • Salesforce knowledge or experience 
  • Equine, pet or poultry nutrition knowledge 

Position Information

  • Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
  • This is a remote position within Indiana state only.
  • Travel is required to cover the area of responsibility.
