Job Purpose and Impact
The Commercial Graduate, will take part of our Cargill accelerated professional program where you will be exposed to varying business functions within the CASC Australia business. You will learn and contribute to the success of the organization and be equipped with foundational operational and trading competency.
The Commercial Graduate role is focused on giving the individual both an overall understanding of Cargill and to gain understanding of the most important aspects of the business, including, but not limited to; Trading and Risk, farmer and demand customers, origination, storage and logistics and trade execution.
Key Accountabilities
- Learn and adapt to the variety of tasks given by the manager or supervisor, depending on business function placement
- Support trading team with administrative duties
- Understand the agricultural commodities trading industry and the markets for commodity merchandising
- Develop knowledge on Cargill's trading and hedging strategies, tactics and practices, including the use of futures, risk management derivatives and structured products
- Data entry and running reports
- Understand drivers of profit and loss and take commercial decisions to generate revenue
- Learn Origination frameworks and strategies whilst interacting with other functions across the business
- Develop collaborative relationships with external customers and suppliers in a customer facing role
- Understand the local supply and demand factors that impact markets
- Learn on the job from specialists, developing technical and soft skills and receiving coaching from the manager and peers
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Required
- Tertiary Education, preference is for Agriculture and/or Commercial disciplines,
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong learning agility and adaptability in a changing environment
- Strong team player and collaborative approach
- Build partnerships and collaborate with others to meet shared objectives
