Cargill participates heavily in the origination of grain and oilseeds from farm through the supply chain to our domestic customers, bulk and containerised exports and our canola and cotton seed crushing facilities.


Job Purpose and Impact

The Agriculture Supply Chain Graduate role is a position where you will rotate through various areas within Cargill Australia business, gaining comprehensive exposure to the end-to-end grain supply chain. You will gain valuable experience across Grain Storage & Handling, Oil Processing, Origination, Trading, Sales & Marketing, and Supply Chain Planning and operations - laying a strong foundation for your career in the agricultural supply chain.

Key Accountabilities

  • Grain Operations including upcountry and ports.
  • Oilseed processing at either our Footscray or Newcastle Crush facilities
  • Origination Sales and Marketing at head office and in the field
  • Trading and commodity management
  • End to end Supply Chain Management
  • Gain firsthand experience in oil manufacturing processes and systems, contributing to efficient operations.
  • Interface directly with growers, enhancing communication and understanding of pricing strategies.
  • Contribute to Cargill’s specialty and sales programs, learning how to drive customer satisfaction and market growth.
  • Engage in trading activities in both international and domestic markets, gaining insight into commodity-specific strategies.
  • Analyse trading forecasts and analytics, contributing to data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the development and execution of supply chain plans, optimizing logistics to meet business goals.
  • Participate in the procurement and or management of Supply Chain services such as road and rail freight, warehousing and container packers and bulk terminal services.
  • Support domestic and export supply chain operations, including order processing, transportation, and delivery.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination across the supply chain.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Logistics and Supply Chain.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks daily.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Outlook).
  • Systematic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work effectively.
  • Effective communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Openness to change and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-changing environment.

Desired Capabilities

  • History in community-based activities
  • History of strong work ethic through part time, job placements etc
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are desirable.
