We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with producers and customers to source, make and deliver products that are vital for living. By providing customers with life’s essentials, we enable businesses to grow, communities to prosper, and consumers to live well.
This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Stevedore to join our busy operations team within a large-scale industrial environment in Liverpool.

This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions.

This is a hands-on operational role responsible for the safe and efficient discharge of bulk materials from vessels into our onsite storage facilities. The site handles a variety of agricultural products and feedstocks, including materials such as rapeseed and soya meal, with vessels ranging in size from smaller coasters through to Panamax vessels.
The successful candidate will work closely as part of an established team, operating specialist bulk handling equipment and supporting wider site operations.

Key Accountabilities

  •  Work as part of the operations team to safely and efficiently discharge bulk materials from vessels into onsite storage facilities.
  • Operate Buhler/Bedeschi ship unloading equipment, Redler conveying systems and other bulk handling equipment as required.
  • Operate a payloader to move and outload bulk animal feedstocks and other materials.
  • Support the loading of coasters for export where required.
  • Monitor loading and unloading operations and make appropriate adjustments to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Carry out pre-use equipment checks, inspections and associated operational documentation.
  • Support general housekeeping and cleaning activities when vessels are not on the berth.
  • Work in accordance with all site health, safety and operational procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure shift and operational requirements are covered.

Shift Pattern & Flexibility

The role operates across three 8-hour shifts:
07:00 – 15:00
15:00 – 23:00
23:00 – 07:00
Due to the nature of vessel operations, flexibility is essential. Vessel arrival times can change at short notice due to shipping schedules, weather and operational requirements. As a result, there may be occasions where shifts need to be changed or covered at short notice. The team works closely together to accommodate these changes, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable with this level of flexibility and is willing to support colleagues with shift coverage when required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bulk handling or industrial operations professional looking to join a permanent role within a well-established, safety-focused organisation.

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for someone with previous experience working within a bulk loading, port, terminal, biodiesel, agricultural processing or similar industrial process environment.

You will ideally have:
•    Previous experience operating a payloader/loading shovel within an industrial or bulk handling environment.
•    A valid ITSSAR or RTITB accredited payloader/loading shovel licence.
•    Experience working around bulk materials and/or vessel loading and unloading operations.
•    A clean driving licence.
•    A strong understanding of health and safety within an industrial environment.
•    Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively using your own initiative.
•    Basic mechanical knowledge would be advantageous.
•    Previous bulldozer experience would also be beneficial.
•    Most importantly, you must be a strong team player with a flexible approach to working hours.

Our Offer
We will provide a fast paced stimulating international environment, which will stretch your abilities and channel your talents.
