Job Purpose and Impact

The Tropical Oils Trader will generate trading strategies while applying the right risk management and bear responsibility of execution to achieve trading objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply a thorough comprehension of trade and risk management across BMD Palm Oil and DCE Palm Olein futures.
  • Independently develop and implement both short and long-term trading strategies on flat price, timespreads and relative values. 
  • Continuous interaction between physical traders, book managers, trading leads and customer groups. Foster a strong trading network both internally and externally.
  • Constructing fundamental and non-fundamental analysis as input into Trading strategies 
  • Managing positions within a sizeable Tropical Oils Trading Book, in a complex trading environment. Continuous improvement on position management, strategies and how risk is deployed in the business.
  • Generate market, positions and profit and loss reports based on estimates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Banking or brokerage with a background in commodities futures 
  • Strong Experience in: 
    • Derivatives/Physical trading and position management; 
    • Proprietary convexity trading 
    • Market marking trading 
    • Fundamental analysis 
  •  Proven track record of high performance in quantitative risk taking
