Packaging Executive
Job Purpose and Impact
The Packaging Engineer I is responsible for using engineering knowledge and methods to design and develop packaging processes and equipment. In this role you will aid in crafting, developing and testing a wide variety of containers used for the protection, display, and handling of products. You will determine packaging specifications according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required, considering need for resistance to such external variables as moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature variations, light, heat, rough handling, and tampering.
Key Accountabilities
- You will assist in conducting experiments on different types of materials in a specialized laboratory setting. These settings include those based on analysis of user information needs.
- Assist in coordinating projects involving the design and implementation for the packaging of new or existing products.
- Helps in crafting and conducting packaging laboratory studies to support all packaging materials and design changes.
- Assist in building documents including cost estimates and works with other packaging team members to deliver packaging laboratory services for development projects, package qualification, and solving efforts.
- Craft good working knowledge in a variety of packaging materials such as corrugated boxes, flexible plastics, glass and paper.
- Builds, modifies, and tests product materials based on durability and cost-effectiveness and may advise customers on efficient packing procedures.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Social and communication skills.
- Ability to independently identify complex problems and use judgement to implement solutions.
- Advanced project management skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide entry-level staff positions
- In-depth knowledge of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
- Minimum of one year of related work experience.
